After the release of the Elephant P8 3D smartphone, the developer introduced another model – Elephone P8 Max. This smartphone with a powerful battery. In the difference from the previous model in it, there is no VR function of the display, but there is a large battery that increases the autonomy of the device. The model runs on Android 7.0. It is based on 8-bit MTK MT6750T processor, has 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage.  Fingerprint Sensor is on the “Home” button. Let’s do an analysis of the Elephone P8 Max.

Elephone P8 MAX: Design

Elephone P8 MAX is available in two colors – classic black and red. Dimensions of the smartphone are – length 153.8 mm, width 76.3 mm and thickness 9.0 mm. A weight of the device is 160 grams.

The phone case is made of metal. The surface has a matte finish that is pleasant to the touch so that fingerprints are practically not visible on it. Almost the entire front surface is occupied by a 5.5-inch screen. The side frames are minimal.

Above the screen are – a conversational speaker, a front camera, a light and proximity sensor, and in addition a front LED flash and an event indication LED.

Below the screen is one single button. It is also touch, mechanical, and also contains a fingerprint scanner and, depending on the settings, cannot only compensate for the lack of familiar navigation buttons but also provide the user with additional functions.

For those who for some reason are still uncomfortable using one single button, the developers have provided the possibility to include standard on-screen navigation buttons at will.

On the left side, a face is located volume buttons, as well as a separate button-slider to turn on/off the silent mode.

The metal tray implements the usually combined scheme, through which two nanoSIM SIM cards can be installed in the smartphone, or one nano-SIM card and a microSD memory card in case the owner does not have enough built-in 64GB.

From the bottom are a spoken microphone, a micro USB jack and a pair of grids of an external speaker.

On the back cover, the center of the main camera and the two-color LED flash below it is located on the top. From the bottom of the cover, there is a logo of the manufacturer – Elephone.

The smartphone has a 5.5-inch screen with a resolution (FHD) of 1080×1920 and a density of 428 PPI (pixels per inch), the sensor is capable of recognizing up to 10 simultaneous touches. The screen has a 16: 9 aspect ratio, occupies about 71.29 % of the front panel and is made using 2.5D technology.

The screen has bright, natural colors. A reserve of brightness is present and when using a smartphone in the room it is enough 60% of its maximum value.

Viewing angles are good – brightness and color rendition are preserved even at maximum deviations.

Elephone P8 MAX: Performance

The performance of the Elephone P8 MAX is based on the 8-core processor MediaTek MT6750T. The chip is built on 28 nm technological process FinFET has a 64-bit architecture. It consists of four cores Cortex-A53 with a working frequency of 1.0 GHz and four cores Cortex-A53 with a maximum frequency of 1.5 GHz. Also contains a graphics chip Mali-T860 MP2 with a clock frequency of 650 MHz.

Smartphone Elephone P8 MAX has two cameras, one front, and one main rear camera. The front camera uses a 16-megapixel CMOS sensor with auto-beauty functions.

For the main, back camera in the Elephone P8 MAX, the manufacturer used a sensor with a resolution of 13 megapixels with a f/2.2 aperture and a dual LED flash.
