No respite in Gionee. After Elife E8 in June, S5.1 Pro in September and S Plus early November, the Chinese brand presents the Elife S6. A new mobile which the chassis measurement 6.99 mm thick.
Gionee is one of its Chinese brands (almost) confidential that we follow because its smartphones are popular with Western brands who wish to enrich their catalogs cheaply. We know several in Europe, Kazam and Wiko example, or Blu Products in the United States.
Especially as Gionee products are rather well made and technologically interesting. We remember the former holder of the title of the thinnest smartphone in the world, Gionee Elife 5.1. But do not forget also the last of its catalog: the Elife S7, E8, and S5.1 Pro, S Plus, Marathon M5, etc.
As expected, Gionee has introduced its new smartphone: the Elife S6. If you do not understand much about the dialing Gionee, know that, historically, the S series is oriented design (much like the Samsung Galaxy A) and that his figure is linked to one of the dimensions of its chassis (usually thickness). And again, this is confirmed as the new smartphone measuring 6.9 mm thick. Hence the 6.
In the range of Gionee, the Elife S6 is as a mobile “mid-range” with a rather affordable price (ie in the range of 1500 to 2000 yuan). It is proposed to 1699 yuan (250 euros), less than the Marathon M5 or Elife S7. And well below Elife Ex. For that price, you gain a stylish smartphone, rather thin and light (147 grams), with a frame in large part achieved with aluminum (89% announced in the data sheet official). The colors announced: gold and platinum.
Datasheet side is already less bright. The AMOLED panel, which measures 5.5 inches, shows only images in 720p. Inside the beautiful frame, you find the MT6753 from MediaTek, an octo-core chipset and 4G we know relatively well. It is under-clocked to 1.3 GHz here and accompanied by 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage expandable through the internet microSD/nano SIM port. The battery has a capacity of 3150 mAh.
Photo sensors, very classic, are worthy of this data sheet: 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel camera in the front. Note that the main sensor, 1080p-compatible video, comes with a lens opening of f/2.0 and a phase-detection autofocus. A rather surprising for such mobile equipment. Connectivity side, we find the 4G (category 4), WiFi n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS (GLONASS and Beidou), FM radio and a USB Type-C port. The ensemble is led by Amigo 0S 3.1, a ROM which is based on Android 5.1.
