The new HP Elite x2 1012 G2 combines a great ease of transport with the latest generation hardware and an estimated operating autonomy of up to 10 hours.

HP announced the latest addition to the family x2: the HP Elite x2 1012 G2. It is a 2-in-1 laptop, to Surface Pro, to be understood, updated with the latest hardware available today. Underneath the body, we have 7th generation processors Core i3, i5 and i7 combined with up to 16GB of LPDDR3 (soldered) RAM and a battery that guarantees over 10 hours of autonomy with a fast recharge (50% is achieved in 30 minutes). All in just 0.91 cm thick.

The new HP Elite x2 1012 G2 adopts a 12.3-inch LED backlit IPS display with 2736×1824 pixels resolution. High pixel counts are handled by processor-integrated GPUs, specifically Intel HD Graphics 620, a feature that focuses on productivity and professional productivity. HP’s 2-in-1 premium is also offered with different storage availability, ranging from 128 GB to 1TB, always on SSD M.2, both on SATA and on the fastest PCIe.

Turning to a professional audience, the new Elite x2 1012 G2 offers a whole host of connectivity solutions: there is no USB 3.1 Type-C port with Thunderbolt support, standard USB 3.0 port, micro SD port, combo port 3.5 mm headset and headset, and a SIM card slot. Wide is also the choice for wireless connections ranging from traditional Wi-Fi 802.11AC (2×2) to Bluetooth 4.2. Through the optional SIM, the computer can connect to 4G networks, and there is support for Miracast sharing.

Long texts are recommended to be combined with the HP Collaboration Keyboard (optional), while creators or those who prefer to take notes with the traditional pen can purchase the HP Active Pen based on Wacom technology. The handset uses two 8 megapixels LED flash and 5-megapixel cameras, the latter being compatible with Windows Hello technology for authentication in the operating system. HP Elite x2 1012 G2 weighs 0.8 kg in “tablet” version, while the traditional travel keyboard reaches 1.15kg.

It gets a bit heavier with the advanced keyboard, about 1.33 kg, with the thickness that stops in this configuration at less than 1.5cm. The system will be sold to EMEA countries from July at a basic price of 1,099 Euros.
