After the Y5 (2017) and certainly a little before the Y3 (2017), Huawei introduced another entry-level smartphone: the Huawei Y7. Located in the category of phablets, this phone is distinguished by a battery more generous than the average.
The Huawei Y7 is similar to the Y5 (2017) that we presented to you a month ago. This is exactly his big brother, because his screen measures 5.5 inches, placing it in the category of an economic phablet. Aesthetically more classic than the Y5 (2017), the Y7 rests on a metal shell with typically Chinese accents, with two parts definitely plastic, top and bottom, to house antennas and ensure good network reception.
Huawei Y7: Specifications
If the screen, covered with 2.5D mineral glass, is larger and the chassis totally metallic, the definition of the phone remains identical to that of the Y5 (2017): 720p. The resolution, therefore, drops drastically to 267 pixels per inch. Too bad, because the chipset that Huawei has chosen to animate his phone is able to handle Full HD. It is indeed the Snapdragon 435, an octa-core from Qualcomm clocked up to 1.4 GHz. The graphic part is here taken care of by the Adreno 505.
The choice of the Snapdragon 435 is relatively coherent since the Y5 (2017) is equipped with an MT6737T, also octa-core, also clocked up to 1.4 GHz. Consistency also in RAM and storage, since the Y7 takes the same configuration as its little brother: 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal space (expandable by micro SDXC up to 128 GB). The mobile phone is compatible with LTE, Wi-Fi n, Bluetooth 4.1, micro USB 2.0, GPS (GLONASS) and FM radio. No fingerprint reader: damage.
Huawei Y7: Battery
The battery of the Huawei Y7 is one of the highlights of this configuration: 4000 mAh. However, the phone does not appear to be equipped with fast charging technology. So plan a little time without a phone when you get to the end of its autonomy (Huawei promises up to 20 hours of video playback and 15 hours of web browsing).
Huawei Y7: Camera
On the photo side, the Huawei Y7 is much better equipped than the Y5 (2017). Main 12-megapixel sensor with auto-focus phase detection, LED flash and aperture at f/2.2. At the front, the mobile is equipped with an 8-megapixel webcam with lens opening to f/2.0. The set is controlled by EMUI 5.1 based on Android 7.0 Nougat. The Huawei Y7 will be available in gray, silver and gold. It measures 8.35 mm in thickness. It weighs 165 grams. No launch date or price for this model. But that would not be long.
