Intex Aqua Fish - first phone with Sailfish OS launched in India

Even in 2014 we saw that Jolla has partnered with retailer Indian Snapdeal to sell smartphones with Sailfish OS running factory. Unfortunately, the project had to be postponed due to lack of interest of manufacturers in an unknown system, something that the company formed by Nokia’s former employees sought corrected with the release of version 2.0 software in September last year.

Now, here it finally reaches the country’s first smartphone with the platform, being an entry model developed in partnership with local manufacturer Intex Technologies, one of the largest in India. The device has a look quite interesting, recalling the prototypes demonstrated by the Jolla during the announcement of its operating system, which indicates that collaboration between the two companies was closer than previously thought.

The device was called Aqua Fish, thus seeking to emphasize the operating system and can be found only in orange. This tone together with its black front creates an interesting set for the price range in which it is located, allowing it to be easily confused with more expensive models. If you want something more discreet, however, it may take a while, since to date no comment about other color options was released by the company.
