LG presents LG X Venture – its first smartphone with certifications for waterproof, impact and fall resistance.
LG introduces its first rugged smartphone, which is resistant to shocks, falls but also water and dust. It’s called LG X Venture and in addition to having ultra-strong smartphone features, it’s been designed not to go unnoticed and above all to ensure good performance for everyday use in all situations. LG wanted to differentiate itself from the rest of the rugged smartphones that are usually made of heavy metal shells or anti-shock tires. In this case, the new X Venture has a special design with a machined metal frame that gives some elegance, recalling however that the device is designed for “on-site” use.
As for the technical specifications, the new LG X Venture has a 5.2-inch Full HD in-cell display with 423ppi and is, therefore, capable of making any kind of multimedia content visible in this resolution rane. At a hardware level, the smartphone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor, 2GB of RAM and a 32GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 2TB with a MicroSD. At the connectivity level, the smartphone has the latest LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, FM radio, GPS and USB type-C second generation.
For the multimedia compartment, LG thought to put a 16 MPX sensor for the rear camera and a 5MPX “wide angle” for the front. Interestingly, the size and weight of the smartphone, albeit rugged, are by no means exaggerated and are equal to 154×75.8×9.29 mm with a weight of 166.5 grams. There is a non-removable 4,100 mAh battery, but with quick charging support via Quick Charge 2.0. In addition to the interesting autonomy the presence of Android 7.0 Nougat that thanks to Doze should allow users to get good results.
LG X Venture is a “rugged” smartphone and therefore possesses, as it is said, the IP68 certification that defends it without any problems from water but also from dust. In addition to this, the smartphone has also passed 14 different military-grade tests in the US, specifically the MIL-STD 810G, which confirm its resistant side even in extreme situations. It is also interesting to know that LG for this X Venture has thought of an interface designed for extreme use, with the presence of “Outdoor Essential”, a suite with barometer, compass, weather, torch and sensors for calculating the steps, Calories, and distances. There is also a “Quick Button”, a dedicated button on one side that allows it to be fully customized and capable of launching a particular application or setting the gloves mode to improve use when using gloves.
LG X Venture is already on sale in North America for a price of $ 330, but in the coming months, it will also be available in Europe, in Brown and Black.
