MediaTek announced new low-cost chipsets MT6737, MT6738 and MT6750
MediaTek yesterday presented his next three in China entry level chipsets: the MT6737, MT6738, and MT6750 / MT6750T. 64-bit compatible, they all support 4G.
Each year at Mobile World Congress, MediaTek Introduces New batch of chipsets, including the entry and midrange. Last year, we met with the MT6753, MT6752 the under-clocked version but consistent LTE world- mode, to provide a new selling point to all Chinese manufacturers who wish to settle in the West. This year’s line-up should be even richer: Three chipsets were presented yesterday in China by the founder, information relayed by the Chinese portal MyDrivers.
The first component, the MT6838 is a SoC whose configuration hearts lot like MT6732 (four Cortex-A53 clocked at 1.5 GHz), but the elements that accompany the quad-core has been updated. It starts with the GPU, and that crosses a generation Mali-T860 adopts ARM (here in single-core version) presented late 2014. This processor provides management screens to 720p video encoding up at 1080p and photo sensors up to 13 megapixels. The chipset is compatible LTE Category 6 FDD and TDD (so world mode) and could receive up to 4 GB of RAM.
The second is called MT637. This is certainly the new offer price the first refiner since this is the only chipset supports LTE category 4 of this panel (the others are all compatible LTE category 6). It is a quad-core with complete technical specifications has not been disclosed. But the configuration should be a mix between the MT6735 and MT6738: Cortex-A53 clocked at 1.3GHz, Mali-T860 GPU MP1, 720p display, up to the 13-megapixel camera and 1080p encoding. All at an unbeatable price…
The MT6750 and MT6750T are a single SoC whose only difference lies in the frequency of the GPU, the latter being compatible with Full HD screens (against only 720p for the first). For the rest, the MediaTek MT6753 resume configuration: two quad-core Cortex-A53 (respectively clocked at 1.5 GHz and 1 GHz) organized in arm big.little. This octo-core elements would have also updated the same way that the MT6738: Mali-T860 GPU here a dual-core version of LTE Category 6 fashion world modem, compatibility with image sensors up 16 megapixels and 1080p encoding. It is therefore intermediate between Helio P10 chipsets (MT6755) and the MT6738.
The three products are engraved in 28nm HPM, certainly by TSMC. All three chipsets should logically be discussed in more detail in Barcelona in less than a month. And they will deliver a good part of Chinese catalog entry (see the beginning of the mid-range) of the year since the first deliveries are expected in the second quarter 2016.
