Meizu has just launched a new MX in China. Is it a pleasant surprise? Not necessarily. While the MX6 is expected, this is a lighter version of the MX5 that we discover. And it is not necessarily cheaper than the original.
Meizu is expected to unveil a new Blue Charm tomorrow but also in its new range MX. A model was added gently on the Chinese portal builder. This is obviously not the MX6, where the manufacturer probably expected an announcement with great fanfare, but a variation of the MX5 called MX5e. The point of improvements here. It is actually the opposite. The equipment is a little less good to get the sale price down.
The differences between MX5 and MX5e are two in number. The first is a slower chipset. While the original is led by the Turbo version of Helio X10, the new model goes to the classical version. The CPU configuration is the same but the frequency is limited to 2 GHz while the PowerVR G6200 is retained for graphics. The second difference is to be sought in the main camera, the resolution passes from 20.7 to 16 megapixels.
The rest of the equipment is kept: Full HD screen of 5.5 inches, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory (32GB option without, however), the 5-megapixel webcam and battery 3150 mAh. Point either change the design side or the OS. The whole is always tidy in a metal frame and animated by FlyMe 4.5.
As mentioned earlier, the MX5e has been designed to offer a cheaper alternative to the MX5. It is thus displayed to 1499 yuan on the website of Meizu against 1699 yuan to each other normally. Hic, the MX5 is currently the subject of a promotion that leads to … 1499 yuan in version 16 GB! So a bad deal in the end…
