Ulefone Armor X: Design

Design Ulefone Armor X is not much different from other secure devices, which we have seen recently. Before us is a classic non-separable candybar with a touchscreen.
As the main materials glass is used to protect the display, and the body is made of several layers of polycarbonate and high-temperature polyurethane. The body also has a metal insert. The device gives the impression of a quality and reliable device, which you can trust in a difficult situation.

The smartphone has dimensions – length 145 mm, width 78.3 mm and a thickness of 15.9 mm. The weight of the device is 270 grams (with battery). Dimensions of the smartphone are not small, and in a small hand, it is perhaps inconvenient to manage even despite a 5.45-inch display. Indentation along the edges of the display is also not famous for its compactness and is more than 7 mm. However, such parameters do not play a significant role, since the device is quite specific.

Ulefone Armor X is presented in two colors – a black version and a роsе gold. Both versions have a matte body, due to which they are practically not noticeable pollution. In addition, the device does not slip in the hands and does not tend to slip out of the palm of your hand.

Ulefone Armor X: Screen

Ulefone Armor X is equipped with a 5.45-inch IPS display with a resolution (HD) of 720 x 1440 pixels. There is screen protection with tempered glass Gorilla Glass.

Apparently, the technology of airless gluing matrix and glass OGS is applied. The number of pixels per inch is 312 ppi, which is completely enough for comfortable use in real life.

Multitouch supports up to five simultaneous touches. Problems with responsiveness will not be.

The quality of the matrix is not bad. The display provides a color transmission close to natural, wide viewing angles. Subjectively, by the standards of a budget device, the level of brightness and contrast is sufficient, but problems may arise in the sun.

Ulefone Armor X: Performance

Ulefone Armor X runs under the control of MediaTek MT6739 processor. Thanks to the use of a new 4-core processor with a clock frequency of 1.3 GHz, which came in late 2017 to replace the popular MT6737 chip, the protected smartphone supports satellite positioning not only by GPS but also by GLONASS. The graphics are processed by the PowerVR GE8100 video chip.

The smartphone is equipped with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage memory, there is a slot for a memory card, which can also be used to install a second SIM card. This indicator at the moment is enough for fast operation of the device.

Serious performance indicators should not be expected, but this bundle should be enough to work with the main tasks, with some not very demanding games at medium and maximum settings.

Among other characteristics it is known about the presence of FM radio, proximity sensors, illumination, accelerometer, compass, and side fingerprint sensor, as well as the function of the PTT radio with a separate physical button on the bumper. Judging by the insider’s information, there is no 3.5 mm connector.

Usually with cameras in devices of this class all is not very good. In this case, the manufacturer offers us a more interesting solution – the presence of three cameras. The main camera received 13 MP and 5 MP sensors with autofocus and dual flash, the front one with a sensor of 8 MP.

The light sensitivity of both main modules is standard F/2.0. There are no other interesting data on the modules. The video is recorded in Full HD format at 30 frames per second.

Ulefone Armor X: Battery

As you might expect, a device protected from all sorts of adversity should please us with a good autonomy, because you can not recharge your device away from home. The manufacturer installed in its device a non-removable lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh. With the normal average operation, the smartphone will run for 2-3 days.

Wireless charging has been around for several years but it still does not seem to have become so widely used by smartphone makers as one might expect. Clearly many devices are starting to embrace this method of charging and not least the new Ulefone Armor X.

Thanks to the Qi wireless charging technology, you can place the Armor X on a wireless charging pad and it will start charging. There will no longer be any cables that can be annoying because at the moment of need just take the smartphone and go.

Although Armor X supports wireless charging, a wireless charging pad is not included in the package. According to Ulefone it is possible that the pad will be released later and will take the name of UF002 becoming compatible with Qi wireless charging enabled devices.
