The next Xiaomi flagship, after the Xiaomi Mi 6 and the Mi MIX 2, would be the Xiaomi Mi 7. It would be, like the borderless phablet, equipped with a widescreen display. The next high-end chipset from Qualcomm would animate it.
Xiaomi Mi 7: Release date
Xiaomi will certainly unveil a new high-end smartphone sometime this spring to succeed the Xiaomi Mi 6 from last April. The first information about it seems to have been unveiled by Xiaomi’s component suppliers at the Chinese site Mydrivers, a reliable source for local brands. The latter presents the Mi 7 since this should be his name, as a real novelty vis-à-vis the current flagship.
Xiaomi Mi 7: Display
The first two details are almost obvious, given the smartphone market in 2017, especially this end of the year: panoramic screen and a dual photosensor. For display, the Xiaomi Mi 7 should adopt a slab measuring 6.01 inches. This would come from Samsung Display and would be supported by AMOLED technology. Its format is 18/9th. The definition is not specified. But since the Mi MIX 2 is Full HD, it would not be surprising that the Mi 7 is too. The impression reader would be repositioned at the back of the mobile, unsurprisingly.
Xiaomi Mi 7: Photo
Photo side, the Xiaomi Mi 7 would not take again the two sensors 12 megapixels Mi 6, but would instead opt for two sensors of 16 megapixels. At least one of the two lenses would open at f/1.7, promising better brightness (the Mi-6 wide-angle lens opens at f/1.8). It remains to be seen whether the two lenses will be identical or different as on the Mi 6. Remember that the latter has a wide-angle lens and a telephoto lens to offer an optical zoom, such as the iPhone 7 Plus.
Xiaomi Mi 7: Processor
The other important information unveiled by Mydrivers is the chipset. It would be the Snapdragon 845, presented as the next high-end octa-core from Qualcomm. The latter is still not official. It is therefore difficult to confirm his presence in a mobile. According to previous rumors, the first batches of the Snapdragon 845 could, like the Snapdragon 835 with the Galaxy S8/S8+, be preempted by Samsung for its Galaxy S9. However, this would not affect the mass production of Mi 7, which would take place in March. Recall that the Galaxy S9 could be announced in February, or even next January.
Xiaomi Mi 7: Battery
Last details, the battery of the Xiaomi Mi 7 would be identical to that of the Xiaomi Mi 6 (3350 mAh compatible Quick Charge), despite the increase in the size of the screen. Which could mean that the Mi 7 will have almost similar dimensions (at least in thickness). The flagship’s chassis would be built with mineral glass and metal, like the Galaxy S8.
Xiaomi Mi 7: Price
Price Xiaomi Mi 7 could be around 2700 yuan, about 350 euros.
